From the September 16th Book Launch in 2010!

Both James P. Wagner and Marc Rosen received degrees from Dowling College on Long Island New York. (Dowling College was also where the first book launch for Perspectives, Poetry Concerning Autism and Other Disabilities was held! )

It was taking classes there that the pair met, talking quite frequently about many topics including autism. James had been around autism and special needs classes his entire life prior to college. An early label of ADHD put him up close and personal with many autistic children. Marc, being autistic himself knew first hands the problems with a label that automatically takes your opinion out of the equation. At this point, James was gaining popularity on Long Island for his performance poetry while Marc was making a name for himself as an autism advocate. Pooling their different talents, Perspectives, Poetry Concerning Autism and Other Disabilities came to be.
